Morallion Hills Neighborhood Association
Block captain Neighborhood Watch Meeting
March 3, 2008 Minutes
- Lieutenant Hill will attend a Morallion Hills Neighborhood Association meeting once a year.
- Lt. Hill went over the responsibilities of the block captains. He said that we were not vigilantes but eyes and ears for the police department. The block
captains are a point of contact and we are responsible for disseminating information to our neighbors. We will utilize the internet and phone tree to quickly
disperse information when needed. Kim Cort will be working on the phone tree. We will be able to use the telephone and computer tree to disseminate pertinent
crime reports and lost children.
- Lt. Hill gave us crime tips during the meeting. They are as follows:
- Write down the serial numbers for valuables like flat screen TV’s, computers, DVDs, and car stereos.
- Solicitors are required to be carrying a permit to operate in our town. Ask to see their permit.
- Know your neighbors habits.
- Don’t ever confront a suspicious person. Call the police.
- Peachtree City has a House watch Program if you are going out of town. They will drive by or physically check our homes.
- Pick up old newspapers for neighbors while they are out of town.
- Lt. Hill has offered to teach us about identity fraud. The meeting will be set in the next two months. Lt. Hill has ordered our Neighborhood Watch signs.
